Industrial Concrete Pan Mixers & Roller Blending Machines
NextGen Engineering Works builds heavy-duty pan concrete mixers and roller-assisted mixers engineered for zero-slump and low-water-ratio base concrete. Featuring wear-resistant bottom steel plates, high-torque industrial gearboxes, and spring-loaded scraper arms, our mixers ensure homogeneous dispersion of 6 mm to 20 mm aggregates without dead zones or aggregate segregation.
Forced Pan Mixing vs Drum Tumbling
In high-strength paver block and precast manufacturing, dry zero-slump concrete (M-35, M-40, M-50) is mandatory. Standard tilting drum mixers fail on zero-slump concrete because the coarse aggregate simply rolls along the bottom without achieving the high-shear energy required to blend stiff cement paste into sand crevices.
NextGen's pan-type mixers utilize forced mechanical paddles that plow through the gravel bed, rotating material in both radial and vertical directions. This forced mechanical agitation ensures 100% paste coverage around every gravel stone, resulting in higher compressive block strengths while conserving cement.

Applications Across Precast Operations
- Base Layer for Interlocking Pavers: Mixing coarse 6 mm to 10 mm grit, stone dust, and cement for block bodies.
- Solid & Hollow Concrete Blocks: High-output batching for mechanical hydraulic block making machines.
- Precast Boundary Wall Panels & Columns: Thorough dispersion of crushed aggregate for reinforcement encapsulation.
- RCC Drain Pipes & Manhole Bases: Heavy-duty mix preparation for spun and vibrated precast drainage elements.
Available Customization Options
- Roller Attachment: Dual solid cast-iron rollers that roll over the aggregate bed, breaking down stone dust lumps.
- Replaceable Floor Liners: Bolt-on high-manganese steel bottom liner plates that can be swapped when worn without cutting the structural drum.
- Hydraulic / Pneumatic Discharge: Push-button operated automated door cylinder for integration into automated batching plants.
- Skip Hoist Loader: Mechanical cable-driven aggregate loading bucket eliminating manual shovel loading into the pan.

Concrete Mixer FAQ
Pan mixers use forced mechanical scraper arms that forcefully coat every grain of sand and gravel with cement paste even at very low water-cement ratios (0.35–0.40). Drum mixers require excessive water to tumble, which weakens the cured concrete's compressive strength.
Our 10 mm to 12 mm bottom steel plates typically provide 18 to 24+ months of continuous daily production. For high-volume plants running abrasive quartz gravel, we offer bolt-on replaceable manganese liner plates.
A standard 415V 3-phase commercial electrical connection is required. We recommend connecting through an oil-immersed or DOL/Star-Delta electrical starter panel with thermal overload protection.
Yes. Our scraper arms are mounted with heavy compression relief springs that allow blades to deflect slightly when encountering larger gravel stones, preventing blade breakage or gearbox shock.
